Gold Award for EMS Performance

SAINT LUCIA POSTAL SERVICE ATTAINS GOLD AWARD FOR EXPRESS MAIL DELIVERY

Saint Lucia Postal Service has done it again. For the second consecutive year, Saint Lucia Postal Service has received a GOLD AWARD and is ranked number one (#1) in the world, amongst the 192 member countries of the Universal Postal Union for its delivery performance in Express Mail items for 2015.

Each year the Universal Postal Union recognizes countries with consistent high Express Mail Service (EMS) performance. The awards are given at three levels; Gold, Silver, Bronze and they are based on key performance indicators of delivery performance, track and trace performance, EMS Service Information and Customs Information. Performance is monitored and complied independently by Price Waterhouse Coopers.

On 5 April 2016, Saint Lucia Postal Service was awarded Gold for 2015, a repeat of their performance for 2014, admirably capturing the most coveted number one spot again.

For the year 2015, twenty (20) countries qualified for awards, with 11 countries awarded gold, (Saint Lucia being the only Caribbean country to achieve gold), 5 countries received silver and 4 received bronze.

Management of the Saint Lucia Postal Service takes the opportunity to congratulate the dedicated staff of the postal service for their efforts in gaining this prestigious and competitive award in the Global Postal Sector.

Saint Lucia Postal Service Philatelic Bureau

Our Philatelic Bureau, based at General Post Office, Bridge Street, Castries, is a wonderful haven for stamp collectors/philatelists from all over the world.

Our very first postage stamp was issued on 18 December 1860 and the first commemorative stamp, marking the 400th Anniversary of Columbus’ discovery of St Lucia, was issued in 1902.

Since then we have continued to produce an excellent range of attractive stamps which epitomize our interesting history, our rich culture, our beautiful flora & fauna and exciting world renowned events.

We produce on average three commemorative issues on an annual basis and one definitive series every four to five years. Some issues also include a First Day Cover and a souvenir sheet.

Local customers and visitors to our island can visit our office at General Post Office to purchase stamps of their choice over the counter.

Customers who live aboard can purchase stamps by mail order. Customers may choose to have a standing order account based on their requirements. Other customers can purchase at will. Shipping and handling is free for all customers.

Remittance for stamps can be made by Money Order, Postal Order and Bank drafts, payable to Postmaster General. Presently, we are not able to process credit card payments but we will advise of any changes in this regard at the soonest.
